Our bodies are inherently intelligent, self-regulating, and self-healing. How does the body accomplish this? Through the nervous system – known as the master control system of the body. The nervous system is your Intelligence System - and determines how you experience and express Life.

The nervous system includes your brain, spinal cord, and all of the nerves that run through the rest of your body.

The spine is the life-line of the nervous system. (Sounds like a pretty big deal, right?) It houses your spinal cord which connects your brain to the rest of your body – allowing your organs and tissues to communicate with your brain. When the parts of our spine (called “vertebrae”) aren’t moving properly, the brain-body communication is disturbed. This is called subluxation.

A chiropractic adjustment corrects spinal mis-alignments (subluxations) and removes structural stress and interference to your intelligence system, allowing the vertebrae to move properly. This restores the lines of communication in your nervous system and for your whole body to be in a greater state of connection and coherence - mind, body, and spirit.

After an adjustment, a common reaction is to feel like your “power is back on.” And it is! When you remove the interference in the nervous system, your body is able to function properly and fully express its self-regulating and healing properties. This is why chiropractors have seen ‘miracles’ since 1895 - because we are liberating points of interference so your body can do what it does best - express LIFE and heal to the fullest degree possible.

Our adjusting flows include connective tissue release (fascial unwinding), throughout the human system - from the feet to the the head (or cranium). We also support and work with the soft-tissues of the abdomen (where many of your organs live) and offer visceral-work (viscera = organ).

All of our doctors have advanced training in cranial work (gently unwinding tension patterns in the cranium - the bones of the head & face), including the TMJ. Cranial work can be especially helpful to support newborns after the strain of birth, nursing and feeding, and throughout growth & development.

These services are included in our adjusting flows, though extra time can be booked for more in-depth care. Fascial unwinding is also included as a key component of Gateways Sessions.

Enzymes are your body’s “workers” – they help you to maintain health and normal functioning. The food we eat also contains enzymes that act as natural digestive agents, which make critical nutrients available to your body. Modern food processing and preparation often removes and damages these food enzymes. Consuming enzyme-deficient food causes stress in your body by forcing your digestive system to work harder to break down food and absorb nutrients. This may lead to poor digestion, inadequate nutrient absorption, and complaints such as heartburn, gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and headaches. Enzyme supplementation helps to ease the stress on your digestive organs and allows you to get the full nutritional benefit from your food.

The Functional Health Evaluation is a 45 min - 2 hour, two-part evaluation. The first part of the consultation and evaluation is FASTING and takes ~45 minutes. In Part 1, we will screen you for digestive stress, visceral & structural stress, lymphatic congestion - if none is present, we move to the second part of the evaluation (taking the full 2 hours. You will be given a food challenge supplement, wait 45 minutes for digestion to activate, and then begin Part 2 of the evaluation). If lymphatic congestion is present, we start with the appropriate protocols and address the other components at your re-evaluation. Please do not eat or drink anything after dinner the night before your scheduled evaluation.

Acupuncture and chiropractic care work very well together. The chiropractic adjustment supports the intelligence system of the body and some of the bigger energy centers and interferences, acupuncture helps to “fine-tune” the body’s energy to allow for maximum health and healing.

Most of our practice members report an enhanced sense of well-being after acupuncture and greater feelings of peace, groundedness, and safety in their bodies.

*The needles we use at Gateways Quantum Center are very thin, but we are happy to offer acupressure for children and those who are fearful of needles.

Our bodies keep score - NET works with the physiology (effects within the body) of stress, emotions, and past traumas. It’s a unique and powerful way to work with the neurology and physiology of the body - to discover and release emotional charges, and gain clarity within the body in the context of past and present emotions.
