We are on a mission to provide true health-care to our community.

At Gateways Chiropractic, we offer in-depth health assessments and a unique combination of healing arts.

Our goal as HEALTH-care providers is to help you CREATE HEALTH and balance within your body. We do not diagnose or treat medical diseases or issues - that is symptom-based sickness-care, and not our area of expertise. If you are ready to start creating health instead of managing symptoms and disease, you are in the right place.

Ultimately, all healing comes from within YOU. You are responsible for your state of being and we would be honored to help you on your journey to better health.

Chiropractic Care

Our bodies are inherently intelligent, self-regulating, and self-healing. How does the body accomplish this? Through the nervous system – known as the master control system of the body. The nervous system includes your brain, spinal cord, and all of the nerves that run through the rest of your body.

The spine is the life-line of the nervous system. It houses your spinal cord which connects your brain to the rest of your body – allowing your organs and tissues to communicate with your brain. When the parts of our spine (called “vertebrae”) aren’t moving properly, the brain-body communication is disturbed.

A chiropractic adjustment corrects spinal mis-alignments and removes structural stress, allowing the vertebrae to move properly. This restores the lines of communication in your nervous system. After an adjustment, a common reaction is to feel like your “power is back on.” And it is! When you remove the interference in the nervous system, your body is able to function properly and fully express its self-regulating and healing properties. This is why chiropractic care can help with so much more than back pain and headaches.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art that uses needling of specific points on the body to promote health and well-being. Traditional Chinese Medicine uses these points to ensure that the body’s energy, or Qi, is balanced. Acupuncture and chiropractic care work very well together. A chiropractic adjustment can help to correct structural stress in the spine and acupuncture can help to “fine-tune” the body’s energy to allow for maximum health and healing.

Dr. Mackenzie and Dr. Patrick are board-certified chiropractic acupuncturists and are passionate about the power of acupuncture. Acupuncture can be effective in addressing hundreds of health conditions and can also assist in immune system support and help control the negative effects of chemotherapy and other treatments. Acupuncture is also supportive for fertility issues, smoking cessation, weight reduction, and pain control. Many patients report an enhanced sense of well-being after acupuncture treatments as well as symptomatic relief and improved functioning.

*The needles we use at Gateways Chiropractic are very thin, but we are happy to offer electro-acupuncture and acupressure to those who are fearful of needles.

Full Functional Health Work-Up

with Enzyme and Herbal Support

Dr. Mackenzie and Dr. Patrick are certified Internal Health Specialists (I.H.S.). We are trained to perform a special examination that helps us to understand what parts of the body and digestive system are under stress. We use that information along with a detailed nutritional consultation and health survey to determine the best plan to optimize your health through dietary changes and nutritional supplementation. All recommendations are tailored to suit your specific needs and goals.

Enzyme Nutrition (Enzyme Replacement Therapy)

Enzymes are your body’s “workers” – they help you to maintain health and normal functioning. The food we eat also contains enzymes that act as natural digestive agents, which make critical nutrients available to your body. Modern food processing and preparation often removes and damages these food enzymes. Consuming enzyme-deficient food causes stress in your body by forcing your digestive system to work harder to break down food and absorb nutrients. This may lead to poor digestion, inadequate nutrient absorption, and complaints such as heartburn, gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and headaches. Enzyme supplementation helps to ease the stress on your digestive organs and allows you to get the full nutritional benefit from your food.

The Functional Health Evaluation is a 2 hour, two-part evaluation. The first part of the eval. is FASTING. Please do not eat or drink anything after dinner the night before your scheduled evaluation.
